8x10An homage to a simple life, “vida campestre” recalls our home in the countryside as well as the home in the hearts of all Puerto Ricans. Unadorned yet elegant, the landscape calls to us with memories of our collective past and hopes for a brighter future.
9×11inAn homage to the block print, El temporal, by the legendary Puerto Rican graphic artist, Rafael Tufiño—Memento mori revisits the tense relationship between Puerto Ricans and hurricanes. As an equalizer between people (whether rich or poor, past or present), hurricanes have transformed our topography and our culture.
This modern rendition not only alludes to El temporal and other earlier works, it also incorporates elements of modern life in Puerto Rico—cars, traffic posts, condominiums, and high rises.
This tropical force is a constant reminder of our mortality as well as our solidarity and resilience.

8.5×11inThe work of craftsmen and craftswomen pre-dates modernity. Their creations have been a testament to the unique ability of humans to make functional and decorative objects, such as tools, furniture, sculptures, and earthenware.
Cerámica is the first in a series of prints dedicated to artisanal hands.
Modern men and women often work in industries and services that use heavy machinery, digital media, and now artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, in Puerto Rico and across the world, skilled artisans have dedicated their mind, body, and soul to this refreshing labor.
This piece reminds us of those who use their hands to create wonderful works of pottery out of simple clay.
8x10inLike one from a dream yet still as real, as alive, as sweet as any person you might hope to encounter, the woman portrayed in this piece represents the artist's personal inspiration and insight drawn from his most beloved.
As the great writers, artists, and musicians of old and present, he looks beyond what is seen to what is dream-like yet very real, finding solace and wisdom that often cannot be etched into writing or carved onto stone.
This is the vanity and duty of mankind—to seek and find truth even in the most mundane of tasks.
5x8inUnable to pierce through the impenetrable walls of coble and stone, it still finds a way in, making an dazzling entrance. The light streaming in the church windows with stained reds and blues of varying hues has always enthralled me and give only a taste of the beauty in the mystery housed in the halls—a tale of woe and wonder that transforms the heart as well as the mind.
The stained glass of castles and cathedrals evoke deep reflection.
